tv cable turbo 350

    My ****** leaks where this cable enters the case. Does this cable just pull out so i can replace the 2 o rings?

    Yes, it has a little offset hook on the end so you can disconnect it from the trans internals, then replace the sleeve and o-ring.
     
  3. comes right out , usually held in with one small screw. then pull the outer up to expose the inner cable were it hooks to a small bent wire

    The easy way is to unhook it from carb unbolt it from ****** then pull it up and use some needle nose vice grips to hold the the wire that goes in the ****** up so you can unhook the the cable from the wire.

  6. Clean the hole and cable end, but don't put any snot on the seal, it will leak again..

    thanks guys, i still can't believe this place. ask a question and 15 minutes later 4-5 guys give you a detailed answer. unbelievable.

    PS; it's a detent cable on a 350, not a TV Cable

    Also 2 types of seals : early had O ring, newer had a boot type.

    oops detent cable. my had the two o rings. anyway replaced them and its no longer leaking.

    You think you have a leak,,I got in such a hurry when I was building my 1939 convertible I forgot to hook up the cable.. imagine driving down the road with a hole in the transmission.

    I didn't take log to figure out my problem..transmission fluid everywhere. HRP
