Happy Birthday Paul! When I turned 60 back in June, I was told 60 was the new 40......To me it is just a number & I don't think I act any differently than I did years ago, hope you feel the same! Hot Rods & good women keep us young forever! God bless Bill https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum...ar-transport-hauling-open-or-enclosed.614419/
fixed income.. jeez.. "don't fix it if it ain't broke" well I wasn't broke before but now that it's fixed I sure am. actually its not so bad, and this place pays in something far more valuable than money.
I'm a relative newbie at 12 years. The Hamb has the best, most active, and friendliest subscribers on the Interwebs, hands down. I suffer withdrawal if I miss a day.
Well, This has been a good month!!. I got to celebrate: 1. 76 trips around the sun on the 1st. Thanks, Mom and Dad! 2. TRJ #85 arrived on the 3rd. Thanks, Steve! 3. 20 years on the HAMB on the 12th. Thanks, Ryan! WOO-HOO!
You don't look that old, but then again I have a problem with ages which used to give me grief when chasing younger women! God Bless Bill https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum...ar-transport-hauling-open-or-enclosed.614419/
I joined while in high school (used to spend my lunch break browsing the HAMB, 'cause we didn't have any "auto-shop" cl***es or ANY shop cl***es, we had "computer" cl***), and I graduated in '01, but it says I joined in "'02". Okay, whatever. Held ONE HAMB auction for the 1st few issues of "Hot Rod Deluxe" Tried to be an "Alliance Member" for a few years... Neglected to renew membership... (joined when rich! but poor at the time of renewal,) Met several HAMBers over the years, I think most are "BANNED" now, Bought a few "HAMB" shirts & decals before there was a store- More of a poser than anything else I suppose. Well, let's say "enthusiastic spectator/supporter". My 1st car was a '57 Fairlane grandpa gave me (only after teaching me to drive [in 4th grade] the granny-geared, '53 longbed, 3-window Chevy p/u). I tried to make the '57 just as cool as he was. The HAMB helped at that time! Now I have a '58 Edsel... 'n maybe an earlier '20's Tudor... (in pieces,) And just as many hopes & dreams....
20 1/2 years for me- as you can tell I don't post much- but I read every day. Ryan and the moderators keep this place awesome. I joined 6 months before I went to Bonneville- met a ton of HAMBers there and it definitely was the highlight of my trip. Just missed out on being in the first 500 by 25, I'm member # 525.
I'm #276. It says I joined in May 2001, but that was when there was a big crash/reset. Been an Alliance Member since that came into existence. The early, rowdy free-for-all wild west days on here were fun and addictive, way too civilized now (although Ryan might disagree with me on that one) I've learned a ton and met some of my closest friends because of this place.
wow... 18 years for me. I must be getting old. I was even a "notable member" for several years. I bet 90% of those posts were at my job where I only had about 15 hours of work out of the 40 hour week. they have me up to about 30 hours now. those Basterds! I seem to be spending more time on the CABE vintage bicycle forum these days. bikes are cheaper and take up less space.
I just hit 20 years today. Thanks @Ryan , @Moriarity , @Paul, @corncobcoupe and all the others that make this the coolest place on the 'net.
dang.. never gave it a thought, but apparently I joined in July of 2002, I think Clark introduced me to the HAMB by inviting me to a meet and greet at one of the events. met a lot of great people thanks to this place! thanks Ryan.
