I collected for quite some time. I have the only 8 grand mechanical tach I have ever seen and the car speedo is very hard to find. I still need to change out the bezel on the tach but otherwise ready to install.

Now that looks like a sweeping speedometer and sweeping tach. Those are different than what Bamaheel has in his car. Did they make two different styles in that series?

I have a blue tach like the pic in post #8 that I've been debating selling. It's not perfect, but it is nice, and it works great. It's an electric one, not the mechanical cable drive type. I haven't seen too many other ones like it. PM me and I'll try to get pics.

Thats crazy - in my quest for a car speedo I talked to multiple outfits including an older fellow in Philly that actually worked for SW - all said not possible to do the brushed center and then 3 colors on top of brushed center (lite blue, dark blue and orange).
Last route I contemplated was to look into getting another tach and cutting a hole in it for the mileage and then having just the numbers for the speed rescreened - all said no go.

Good for you though - maybe new technology?

He's matching the twin blue tach and not the gauges..The Tach I have doesnt have that brushed center, so I'm not sure if they can do it.But I'm willing to bet they can..

Nice, are they going to paint the inside of the glass like how it is on the Tach. I did reach out to Zac over the weekend but I haven't heard back yet.

Just listed on ebay a NOS boat speedo. This is what I contemplated using as a car speedo because more common. Thought If you switched out the face and needle with a car speedo (and possibly cut a hole for the mileage) you would have a great looking (and matching) speedo at a lot less cost than the more expensive and elusive car speedo.

When you guys are bidding on those boat speedos, make sure you know the diameter. Some of them are smaller than the auto speedos, and might not look right in your dashboards.

And, how are you going to hook up the pitot tubes? :)

You could convert to air speed?

On a 60 MPH speedo I don't think it really latters if it works. Hell we drive my mom's old jelly bean car faster than that. ;)

They are a real nice looking gauge. It amazes me how things have changed, I remember when gauges were the least cost in a build now they are the right up there with the big dollar investments.

Thanks Mr Rain, I don't remember me inviting you to my parade ;)

Jeff, the Speedo I picked up was actually NOS with all the hardware included, not that is a big help. The gauge is 3 and 11/32" in diameter which is pretty close to my black faced Speedo and Tach. Could I hook it up like an airspeed gauge in an airplane? Could I mount the Pitot somewhere on the frame? Do you think Classic Instruments could convert it over to a Car Speedo?

KIT INCLUDES SPEEDOMETER, PICKUP, 18’ OF TUBING, THRU-TRANSOM FITTING, AND INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Yes, I know 60MPH isn't too much a high speed indicator, lol. I am hoping I can convert it somehow. All it takes is money, right:D
