Good ****ysis and I agree. Proof...if one of the two pictured carbs , on Riley intake/log, are blocked off the engine will still run fairly well. But with one carb blocked, this would not be the case with small balance/equalizer tube idea...I think , as 'common sense' conclusion. Your input puts me back on track, in that, this is experiment to see if these two Riley carbs can be made to run decently on this setup. Then put on a log similar to those pictured above. No use making a costly time consuming custom log...if carbs won't work. These Riley carbs are rather simplistic construction...but you still have to figure out how they work and how to tune them to application/engine used. Fun !!
    Question:
Does length and angle of manifold (that Riley carbs are shown on) make a difference in your opinion..?
In other words, should they be longer and maybe have an upward slope ? Or do you think that the short straight one that I've made look efficient to you ?

    Hey jimmy,
Very nice and impressive results ! Tubes look to be at least half size of manifolds...proof in pudding, eh ! And, the runners are long and slope down/in (ram affect?). Thanks for picture.

    Thanks Jim.
That (copying original log specs) is my goal...if carbs work. But, some of you guys ideas / comments give me ideas also. The original Riley has FOUR intake ports. Someone suggests maybe one carb manifold for each....hmm !
