Several people have asked when and where the next road trip will be, well here is the plan. My good friend " Duck" and I will be headed west again July 7th in his deuce roadster for 17 days. This trip will be a redo of last years "Road Dog Roadster Tour" but with a different route. To make it more interesting we leave the roadster top at home. Duck is a youngster, only in his late 60's. In the mean time I will be going to Good Guys Nashville next weekend, and the Hot Rod Reunion in Bowling Green. Later in the year there will be the Nationals in Louisville, The Old North State Invitational in North Carolina, and The Gathering at the Roc in Oklahoma. You can follow along on these adventures via my Instagram account @garywbrock if you want daily coverage. Remember folks no matter how young or wealthy you are time is the one thing you can't replace or buy more of, and we can't all have as many years as Isky, Alex Xydias, or Gene Winfield, so don't wait for someday do it now.

Cool trip in a very cool Hot Rod “A” coupe!
Like the removable top insert. Can I assume the snaps hold it on at freeway speeds? Any pics of the insert details?

Top is secure at least to 90 mph I haven't performed test at higher speeds, also doesn't leak in the rain.
I have a few more pictures to post. to avoid any confusion the first new pic is my brother, in the earlier pics, the fellow next the hemi is Bozo owner of the Route 66 hot rod museum, and the gentlemen standing in front of the coupe with me is Jim Lindsay. 20230505_165947.jpg 20230506_103732.jpg 20230508_103710.jpg 20230508_102127.jpg 20230506_134646.jpg

Amazing, awsome trip guys!! Know all about the packing story with my T coupe. We made a western swing out west a few years ago but in the wifes Corvette and covered a lot of the same spots. Hell of a job. Congrats!

Nothing better than cruising the U.S. west looking thru the windshield of an old car...IF you get to Denver, ColoRODo, next time look me up, I can give you some two-lane routes that'd blow your minds...especially thru southern Utah...My bro and I have been cruising the United States (and Canada) in our (various) old cars for over twenty years - been to and thru 38 of the lower 48 and there's a ton of sights to see.

On our last trip out to LARS one of the other roadsters, three of us on the trip, was having overheating issues. We stopped at the Santa Rosa museum looking for local garage to help deal with it. The guy at the door said check with the boss, that big guy in the back. Just yell hey Bozo. Suuure... I'm going to yell hey Bozo at that big dude. Yes that was his name and he sent us to the garage he owned just up the street. Everyone was great and we were back on the road in a few minutes. Would you believe a bad radiator cap.
As far as your trunk goes, when the Lovely Miss Lynda and I headed up to the Jalopy Jam Up in Durham, Ontario, I put the spare tire, tools, tent, sleeping bags, air mattress and a small cooler in the '32's trunk. Told Lynda all the rest of the room was hers. That was an one of our best trips. Thanks for posting your story. 20190614_213953.png IMG_2602.JPG Makes me want to get back on the road again.

Great story! To take a trip like that in a hot rod, and with your brother, makes it extra special. Thanks for sharing.

There's nothing like a trip like that in the ol' hotrod! I'll be headed to GG Columbus so we'll be going opposite directions in July, but the shop's always open if you make it to here:) Thanks for all the pics!

Edit: Nevermind, I found your build thread. Too cool.

So cool. Especially with a trusty y-block which would of sounded awesome the whole trip. It just proves those that say you have to have a sbc or sbf if you want to drive them are ignorant. Any cool old school motor properly built and maintained will take you anywhere.
