Fantastic guys. That is the best adventure. With the speed that air travel can take us anywhere it is now the end destination that has become important and the journey has been forgotten. You could spend your life exploring America and probably not see it all. You don't see anything at 33,000 feet.
My parents were big RVers and would leave early morning 6 a.m. on a 3-month adventure. I would call them that night for a check in. "Where are you", Dad would answer "Indian John Hill rest stop." We stopped for lunch had a gl*** of wine and your Mother wanted to watch the sunset". Okay that's good and hung up. The rest stop was 125 miles from home. No worry, No hurry.
Question. Did you pack a wash bucket because your car looks pristine and never looks dirty? Lol.
    Great trip. Thanks for sharing.

Great story and pictures. My wife and I did about 4000 miles in a fresh deuce highboy roadster with a trunk mounted tank in 86. Out to CA from NE for the LARS, then up to Northern Ca down to Tahoe over to the edge of Yellowstone, then home. We were 300 miles into the trip when it started to rain and I realized I had forgot to pack the side curtains. My wife was a trooper but when we go home she said if you ever want to have that much fun again I'll stay home.

Wash bucket? Are you serious did you notice the trunk picture, LOL. We did stop at do it yourself car washes a couple of times, but I see bugs and splashes as a badge of honor.

My ol' 48 Ford truck has been licensed and on-the-road for 31 'plus' years ... if my brother (Walt) was alive, he'd be the only one likely to ride along on a trip / journey such as yours __
An image is worth a 1000 words. Thanks for taking us along !! :D:rolleyes:

  11. And this one- credit to the original photographers for catching a moment. I can delete them if you feel they dilute your thread, but these and your picture just speak volumes to me … 0274C7BC-9DBE-4D09-9A3B-10C3F8D41993.jpeg

Three hot gals, a hot rod, an old truck, and a motorcycle, what's not to like?

Gary what a adventure, especially considering sharing your life long love for hot rods with your younger brother, not only that but having never spent any time in one is amazing, hopefully after his experience we have a new convent to the hot rod world.

You sir are living the dream my friend! HRP

Seeing your pictures makes me realize I need a hot rod road trip, it’s been too long.

Gary ... Model A Hot Rods RULE ... and yours is awesome! I just gotta ask, did you check your gas mileage? How many gallons of gas does your tank hold?

I only have 11 gallon tank in mine ....
