Technical Two piece fenders

Have a quick question and thank you for any ***istance. When bolting the top and bottom sections of a front fat fender ford together should I use something such as seam sealer between the joints? Or perhaps bolt them together and then use something to ***ure no gaps? What is the proper method? Thanks
