******** ain't the word for it! Its one thing to work in those conditions because you HAVE to, (been there, done that, said the bad words) quite another because you WANT to! Cool project, no pun intended.

  2. Shhhhhhhhhhiiiiiiiiiiitttttttttttt. you got balls. That effie must be in your dreams all the time. I have never welded on metal that cold. How does it react when you put the heat to it?
Been working on my wifes Nash here in Reno. Gets to the mid teens, Have the Met in the garage. I got out an hour before, fire up the propane heater then go back out. by then its about 75 degrees but the floor is still 40.

Yes at 59 I am a big PUSS. Give me the hot anyday.

Welcome to the club. Not too long ago I was out putting siding on my new garage In -15C that's about 10F. Still trying to finnish the job, but it's still the same temp inside as out with out dry wall and insulation. Do you think Fruit of the Loom will want us for a thermal underware comercial? It worked for Jarod.

  5. Been thier done that, once again I remember why I moved to Hawaii. Like the other guy said don't lay in the snow or cold ground to long .You will pay for later in life.

I admire your determination, but after the snow settles, you're one mean sob.

Your balls would have frozen to the ground, were they not manufactured from bearing bronze.

Not me buddy, I HATE snow.

I was kinda looking forward to all that global warming, and then it turned out to be a big hoax. I was totally bummed for like a week.

I would not miss snow and cold weather even a little bit.

Man, you are unreal - I do love the stance but you had to do it NOW? Holy **** cement is cold when you are on your back - I can't even imagine snow! You know, I lived in Buffalo for 2 years when going to grad school - best man at my wedding still lives in Williamsville. I remember one 3-week period in February when my car had problems and I had to use my old Honda Super Hawk motorcycle as transportation for that time. I went through snow, ice, freezing rain, and everything inbetween during those three weeks - cold, damp, miserable - I can't even begin to tell you. My bones ache now just thinking about it. For you guys that do not live in snow country, perhaps possible comparison would be trying to do this in 120 degree heat on a blacktop driveway and there's no shade in sight - but that sounds too easy!

BTW, have you ever considered moving to a warmer clime so you can do what you love to do (and do very well I might add) without freezing your **** off?!

Holy ****! What the hecks wrong with you? :D

When mine was covered in snow, I was inside playing rockband. Youll have that thing running in no time at all with that motivation! Maybe thats why mine is still not running.

Keep up the good work, Ill try to get to where I can play the drums better.

You're a freaking nut, it was -7 when I put the little guy on the bus this morning. I broke out the torpedo in the garage to work on the J, it was still under 30 out there. Nothing like not seeing the part for your breath...lol

Mmm, -7... sounds like good floorpan replacement weather! Let's make some patterns, shall we?

You can see the aluminum sheeting I removed that someone used to patch the floor previously. It was <barely> held in with 2" screws!:D

Gonna head over to Fedcospeed's later this week and get with some foldin' and bead rollin'!

Jim, you're welcome to these patterns, but I doubt they'll be the same.

OMG! I will just go ahead and admit that I am a candy ***! Were you drinking beer too - no need for a cooler!;)

  30. Haha, right on. I thought I was toughing it out in my barely-heated garage (I get it up to about 35° on work days), then I saw your photos and your location (I'm pretty much right over the border from you). I don't think I'd have your dedication, and I'm pretty sure most of the guys from California would curl up in a foetal ball and cry like schoolgirls if they had to attempt that :D

You got some balls man... too bad they're not gonna drop again until July. :D
