Most of us are accustomed to seeing 5 spoke American Racing Equipment “Mag” Wheels. The standard rounded edge tapered spokes that were the original design. But over time, the company made plenty of other styles and with the American Racing Equipment Company quality, look just as nice on many old hot rods and in this case, an old woody wagon that is a sleeper.

Why is it a sleeper? Well it looks like a nice cruiser with racks for the many folks that can be seated and need surfboards for the local hot surf spots in So Cal. The stock appearance is deceiving as it was told to us that it has all Chevy running gear and a modified 383 motor sits under the hood.

Well, at least it gets to the beach faster than most. But if one saw it on the road, the American Racing Flat Spokes gives a hint of wheels and stance to say… “watch out.” Then, the motor power comes on strong and surprises a lot of people. YRMV
