    Agreed, its stance is dead-on.

    Hello,

    We have always had a inkling toward 1940 Fords. From one of the early hot rod sedans I saw almost weekly for two years sitting in the back row of our local Bixby Knolls drive-in restaurant parking lot, that started it for me. The front end sticking out or facing the teens who drove into the lot and the sound when he started it up getting ready to leave for the night of cruising around.

    Sometimes is was just two blocks over on another major street that had the lowest cost, but best tasting burger and fries in the area of drive-in restaurants. Other times, we would see it in Lakewood several miles East at another drive-in restaurant Oscar’s, or down South near Belmont Shore at Hody’s drive-in restaurant. They were all within our whole teenage cruising scene.

    But it was the deluxe front end that greeted everyone each time. The sedan was bright red with all white tuck and roll upholstery with a tall stick shift lever sticking up in the front seat area. He had a Buick motor, looking good, but it was not a racer, just a cool looking car for the times. No, the white tuck and roll was completed in one of the local Bixby Knolls shops, too.

    I had a deluxe 1940 Ford Sedan Delivery with a flathead motor, as a teenager. The area frequented by that flathead sedan delivery was right below where the above, yellow 1940 Ford Pickup truck was parked in this lot. My wife and I bought a long term project deluxe 40 Ford Sedan Delivery with a 327 in it for our 20 something cruising project build and road trips. It too, frequented the whole Headlands point in this part of coastal So Cal.

    So, my wife and I grew up in the area of where we saw this yellow 40 Ford Truck parked in the lot. That lot has come a long way. It is on top of a cliff overlooking zillion dollar homes down below closer to the water. About 45 years earlier, this whole area was ripe for development. Down below was a vast beach club with tennis courts and a super clean sandy beach. The beach was public, but the tennis courts and buildings were part of a private club.

    But, as things go, there was a push to create some homes on top of the cliff that “normal” families could afford. So, a complex of homes were built and the homes had to be priced below the area home pries. Needless to say, they sold out within a week and have lasted to this day with restrictions about upgrades and future sales. The general public was given a nice flat area closer to the ocean for a parking spot and now, it has one of the best views along this coastline. If one gets too close to the edge, then the view are packed with those beach front multi-story homes below. YRMV

    That Truck has always had a great Stance! I do love the use of 14's and 15's on it. I am setting up a set very similar for my '34 right now.

    A 32 Ford has a 106 inch wheelbase from the factory. Is it not on a 32 Ford frame?

    I have been trying to prove what wheels and stance can do over the past month...

    My ‘32 is on its original frame that was modified sometime prior to 1968, when I first saw it. The front crossmember is relocated to account for its 10% engine setback. The car has an unknown racing history, with my father and I having cut the tubular roll bar out of it in 1972. IMG_2261.jpeg

    TURD HERE !!!!! As long as your havin' fun with it, that's the main thing !!!!! I don't have ANYTHING THAT COMPARES TO IT !!! And I don't want a '32 three window with a 102 inch wheelbase,
    { BTW all passenger car "32 Fords had 106 inch wheel base.}

    but if your happy with it DRIVE ON, I really don't give a rip !!!:) [IMG]
