Who all is running the projects in two-tone primer? Pix? The reason I ask, my 58 ford has been in gray primer for the last 10 years...I have owned it for 3 so far. It needs painted, but I don't have the money for the new sheet metal, and all the paint supplies to do it the way I want just yet. I am taking it to a show in mid April and I really don't want to take it looking like ****. I am thinking about redoing the primer so it looks better. I was going to do flat black primer with a gloss brandy wine roof, but I am sick of black primer with gloss roofs! So I am wanting some inspiration with pics...maybe red oxide and black, gray and black??? I am putting the trim back on also... Oh, and I have a new set of chrome reverse wheels and new black wall tires for it. Posted from the TJJ App for iPhone & iPad
No choice for now (-$) White grille and top are primer also Posted from the TJJ App for iPhone & iPad
Did mine in 84, just to see how I like a 2 tone on the car. Tinted lite grey (actually closer to white) Dupont Corlar primer with purple candy concentrate, and straight up lite grey.
How do u tint the primer? I have been told to add a little enamel color to it as long as it uses the same reducer...is this right? Posted from the TJJ App for iPhone & iPad
used to use base toners to tint....used buff with color and had a wide variety of Martha stewart approved colors....used gray with toners for purples, blues etc....
check with ur paint jobbers many primers are tintable , nothing new... did a 56 buick wagon & OT 69 camaro with 2tone primer looked great.
