So we said this project was going to be a slow burn...but it's not dead.
We have always talked about picking up a steel body for the car. We missed one over the winter so when we saw one hit craigslist locally for a few hundred bucks we scooped it up. The down side is that it's not a Model T body.... In fact it's not even a Ford body. It's a Dodge body. Year??? Model??? (we need the experts here on the Hamb to help us out Does anyone know the year(s) or model of Dodge we have). Oh wait you want pictures...Might help.

So here's the body as we got it back to Jim's place.

Of course we couldn't wait to set the body on the Frame to see how it would look and think about how to make it fit.

Over the snowy season we also picked up a 31 ford Radiator shell... So I had to get a shot of it on there too.

We figured there would be some clearance issues with the rear end.

We may have to narrow the rear a little, adjust the shock mounts and maybe look at a softer Z. That would raise the rear but I think we can live with it.
The Wood in the Body is shot so we'll be redoing that . The mounts for a "Roof" are part of the structure of the body so we're thinking about what to do there.
As always, let us know if you have some Ideas or been there, done that words of advise. Most of all What year and model is this body from?

Guess for now this is a Model D bucket.

The project had some promise when Koz was building it, now, I'm not so sure. Especially since the odd ball Dodge body entered the picture.
I myself would have passed on that one. Buying it just because it was available ? Not always the best idea.
I'll stay tuned to see if I'm wrong in my thoughts on the upcoming results of the build.

The car was a roller when I sold it. It was set up with motor and trans mounts etc. Should be an easy finish. Just wondering how they were making out.

    Koz,
It's still a pile of parts. We've had a some set backs. Jim has had some health issues in his family. I spent most of the last year buying, renovating and moving into a new home and Shop. The Shop is still a work in progress.
We have always planned to start this one once we finish the other T we're working on. That T now has a running engine in it, with warmer weather we can finish painting and installing that last detail parts and get it on the road. If everyone stays healthy I could see this car being well under way this summer.

    Blue,
As for the thoughts on the body. Your right if it was only bought because it was available that would be silly.

We have been shooting for a look similar to this Photo from the start

Judging from the length of the cowl This doesn't match the fiberglass T bucket body we have. The proportions are closer to that of the Dodge. We have tossed around the Idea of dropping the turtle deck or not. I've thought about using the cowl and doors from the Dodge then hand making a sheet metal copy of the t bucket rear. Also the Idea of picking up a Steel T roadster body is always an option. I'm sure that I can resell the Dodge body if need be. It will all depend on how it all fits and what we like, in the end we're the ones driving it.....
