Tx HAMBers...Need Dec.6 show input....Opinion time.

While this post is at the top, let's talk about what we can do to auction something for the board?
Somebody get an okay....we do a jam at the shop maybe...auction it the next day?
Or like Dan said,paint at the show/shop....auction it on the board?
Now that we know where it's gonna be, let's decide what we are gonna DO there?

Danno, not saying y'all are trying to BE elitist. You (the artists who are wanting to hold this shindig) just need to deside on what kind of event you want to hold.

If you want to have an gathering to unify local/semi-local artists, stripers letterers, etc. I'm all for it.

The Idea when it was proposed at first was to have an event in Houston at the Continental club where artist's could show their whares and hot rodders could have fun with there cars.
If it was misunderstood I'm sorry.


The Continental club was just trying to help bring in more potential customers for the artists by combining the swap and bop with the show.
As far as jump starting the "Houston scene", I too have little interest in it, I'm just trying to help folks who have to live in that area have something cool to do in their own neibourhood so they don't have to drive to Austin all the time.

I would love for more people to know that Johnny and Kali are there and they have two of the best in their town.

Again I'm not trying to sound scolding and am in no way putting y'all down. I'm just trying to get an Idea of what we need to do to help.

Y'all of course have our full support no matter what way you go.

There has been way too much thought put into a name and place. Ultimately, it's your show and your decision. Do what YOU want and those that don't like it can just stay home.

I don't care where it's held or what it's called. I said I'd be there and I think most of the Texas HAMBers will do there best to be there. Good Luck!

Geez it took me two days to read all the posts here but hopefully I can answer a few questions and make it easier for ya'll to decide what you want to do. If everything goes as scheduled we will have and additional 4,000 square feet of indoor space to accomodate the artists. We are tring to finish up the indoor space that connects to the CC thru the back yard(eventually to be called Mr. Charlie's Big Top). I want to cater to the artists first and formost and give ya'll first dibs on whatever space you choose...inside or outside and keep you all together. We will give the other vendors what's left. We will be using the parking lot across the street from the club for rods and kustoms so ther should be plenty of room for at least 50 cars. The entertainment we have booked includes yours truly Krupanut w/ The Horton Bros, The Hustlers, Dale Watson and more. I will talk to the RLB and see if they will come down and do a show, but that a tall order. Sorry it took me a while to catch up but like Krupa said, some heavy stuff at home and I just got back to Austin. Any idea of how many artists we should be prepared for and we can start scoping out the space?

Steve...on the CC website,Pete has listed the party as being on Nov 29 in the newsletter....and Dec 6 on the calendar...maybe he could tweak that info to line up so no none will be confused....

Let's nail down this HAMB auction part of the show...

It would probably do more good for the HAMB to put the items up for auction here, on the HAMB...3,000 plus "members" could see if there is something to bid on that they JUST CAN"T LIVE WITHOUT! My $.02.

 

Good point Dan, Maybe y'all could do up a little panel jam to auction off here on the HAMB after the show?
Every one spend a couple minutes striping/painting on a flat panel, just pass it around all day.
