i bought a****le for my model a and didnt have a bill of sale either. i just went in and had the****le transfered to my name. i stated i paid $500 for the car. they gave me no problems. they were so amazed by the old****le they didnt think about anything else. after i got the****le in my name i went back and registered it. no problems at all.
    hope this helps.

Don't go to a TXDOT station. Find one of those independent****le stores, look for a friendly face, maybe offer buying a Starbucks or something and get it done there. Dealing with the bureaucrats is a pain and they seem to enjoy bending you over.

Go to Mansfield sub courthouse. Nice friendly folks there. Got the 32 panel thing done there with New Mexico****le. No green sheet are any hassle. I got the****le only did not ask for tags. These folks act as if they are working for you not against you. Being polite to them does not hurt either. They called a****le only transaction.

I got a****le from Arkansas for my 46 and all I did was go to the local tax office and had the****le transferred to my name. You can have a****le transferred without registering it for tags. Get this done and go back later after you get the****le in the mail and have it registered for tags. Easier if you get antique plates because you don't have to have it inspected.

In December I****led my 32 in my name without getting plates. I put the cost of the vehicle as 750.00 bux and the entire process cost me about 68.00. Got the Texas****le in my name in about a month. I also got registration on the spot. I went to the tag office in Round Rock..pretty much painless and no bil lof sale needed. You will need to have a form filled out from the previous owner who is on the****le.

Print this out...fill in the blanks

well that didnt go well. (even though they loved the old****le) the****le has the name of the guy who last registered it in 54'. they wanted his signature, i told them he is long dead. thought i would help my cause by telling them someone gave me the car. well now they want a bonded****le, appraisal and something else. so here is my next plan. tell me if this is correct?

    1. get a "seller" to sign the back of****le
    2. get same "seller" to fill out 130 form w/ value
    3. same seller sign bill of sale

    anything else?

The "seller" you note in your post above must be the****led owner of the car.

You should have followed the directions others gave you here. Now you have alerted the office there and they will remember you.

Only two possible ways I know of are 1) forged his signature on a bill of sale (illegal) and 2) mechanic's lien (illegal for you since you're not a shop owner).

There is a third way, I guess, and that would be to buy another****le that is unsigned but that get's you back to the above.

I just bought a Camaro from a guy for next to nothing because he did the same thing you are trying to do and could not get it****led legally...period. I just wanted the******* so all's good here.
