Anyone know what todays equivelant of type "A" transmission fluid is? it's for a '59 Mercury multi-drive quadrant.
type f was some older fords(our 57) and may be hard to get ... one of the new types is okay (dex2??mercon???) but i can't tell ya cuz i don't know.. paperdog
Dexron III is the preferred replacement for Type A. Type F is not. All the TBird restorers recommend the Dexron. I assume that the 59 has the Fordomatic 3 speed in it.
