Well it's about time I get to posting some more shots so here goes: Poncho Gotta love this paint Alter Boys Was told this is a Brookville Ventures album cover car Think someone else might have posted this? Lurker Survivor This guy can't make up his mind - traditional or street rod Tommy
Thanks for the pictures Dennis. Good coverage of the day. I was having problems with my camera and didn't even know it until I downloaded my pictures. See you guys Saturday in Burlington.
Thanks for ALL the pics Dennis;it was ALMOST like being there .Just as an aside,I don't know if anyone knows about the 34 Ford roadster with the Deuce grille that has,"*******"painted on the side, but that car belongs to Jerry Sheehan from the Cam Snappers in Newburyport M*** He was a founding member of the New England Hot Rod Council back in the early 50's and is featured many times in the book,Cool Cars and Square Roll Bars.He built that car in high school(started when he was 16)and has owned it ever since(about 50 years now).Used to have an Olds in it at one time(I think it has a 350 in it now). His brother built a 34 Cabriolet about the same time and it had a NH vanity plate on it that read,"ONION".As the story goes, when it came time to paint it,he wanted a particular shade of purple and brought a purple onion to the paint store and told them to match the color. The vanity plate came naturally after that. Anyhow I'm rambling;just wanted to mention Jerry. He's pone hell of a nice guy and I always look forward to talking with him at Old Timers. Ray
I'll second that Ray.... I've talked to Jerry a bunch over the years (god I sound old...but I've been going to the ty-rods show for as long as I can remember) and you won't find a nicer guy. Wish you were there this year Ray....so we could remember times we never had togther.
[ QUOTE ] Wish you were there this year Ray....so we could remember times we never had togther. [/ QUOTE ] Yeah so do I.Sounds like a book Jack Douglas might have written. Don't know if you're old enough to remember him but he used to be a regular on the Tonight Show when Jack Parr hosted it.He was a real piece of work;used to have a pet wolf(in the 50's that was REALLY unusual!),was married to a Japanese girl(I think her name was Reiko)and had two books out at the time:"My Brother was an Only Child" and "Never Trust a Naked BusDriver". Anyway I haven't forgotten you on that plate. TTYL Ray
