How long are your current U bolts?

I believe the 7 1/4" rear has 2 1/2" diameter tubes and an 8 3/4" has 3" tubes, so that adds a 1/2". Any extra leafs adds another 1/4" each or so. I'd go with U bolts 1" longer then your current u bolts, should leave you enough extra threads to make it work and not be too long. Gene
