There was a December 2024 thread on this that became pretty salty, so I'll try to stick to posting observations. Here are my thoughts if anyone is thinking of renting one. Hope it helps you be informed. 1. Be aware the production trailer is STEEL, it is NOT aluminum like the prototype. It weighs in at just over 3100 lbs per the sticker. 2. The ramps are set pretty wide and CANNOT be adjusted to be any narrower or wider, so if you have a narrow track like our classics, you will absolutely need capable spotters when loading and unloading this thing. 3. The ramp angles are somewhere between gawd-awful and butt-turrible degrees. Plan on having wood step blocks around for lower bodies or long sedans. 4. The drive-over wheel wells aren't all that useful for passenger vehicles, but they are nice and low, so you're ride has to be really, really low for your doors to hit them. 5. This trailer also has the new hitch design with the plastic lever coupler lock and braided cables instead of conventional safety chains. The safety cables are irksome and awkward to connect because they coil up in a spring-like fashion. While I disliked the old U-Haul twist style coupler lock, the new plastic lever seems quirky. 6. Lastly, the anchor rings on the deck are nice, but placement seems poor and places them under most car bodies. That's fine if you have clearence, but operating ratchet straps under a low vehicle requires some physical flexibility. Just some things I wish knew before diving in.
