Saturday I was out at White's Pit stop in Schererville In. I got there too early,well I was way too early,I got there at 8:30 and figured I'll go to McDonalds grab a cup of coffee and a sandwich,I went back sat in the parking lot waiting well it was about 10 to 9 I took my dog out to let walk a little we walked around the back of the building then around it,when we got in front I was looking inside got to the door and there was a big sign (hours 10 to 5 Saturday)well I wasn't going to sit there so we took a ride down U.S 30 to where the track was,there still nothing around it the care taker was there thats what he told me he was,he said they are trying to get it reopened?
That would be a wonderful thing but 1/8th mile w/mufflers would be the way, and that probably won't cut it for the fucking neighbors. I was there in 82, Sat. nite run tuff deal. Too far off the dial even tho I won the round. Beer in the staging lanes back then, city boyz gambling on every pass, you had to be there.
That story comes up every few years,last I heard about 4 years ago was that Mike Alberts was trying to reopen it.
