    Kustombuilder works at the GM Craft Center building the SSR..... (when he's not laid off, that is :p)

    Yes retired almost 9 years from the Chrysler Huntsville Alabama electronis and millitary ***y plants. as hourly 1413 and sal 1928. I got a notice today {sat}my check will be deposited in the bank monday...... Bobby....

    We were PACE(Dana Marion) now we are part of the United Steel Workers. Contract is up this next Friday so may get a vacation.

    I worked my way through college on the Mon and Fri night shift at GM's Lakewood plant. We were noted for wildcat strikes the first week of deer season.

    Why am I not surprised at so many auto workers on this board?
    I swear, cars can be a drug to some people.

    Cars are an expensive habit, but at least they don't have calories or give you cancer.
    My wife is just starting to understand that I'm a junky....

    It's great to see labor represented, especially auto-centric stuff. My grandfather and stepfather were both union members.

    I wish my own field could be organized, I'd feel a bit more confident about having a job to go to in a year. :confused:

    Not cars, but Sheetmetal...SMWIA Local 36. TrailerEd is too, unless he has dropped out to sell Rods full time since I last talked to him.
