Hey, its not too early, my 3 day weekends start at 7am Thursday morning... !

It isn't EXACTLY according to Hoyle trad, but its the thing that keep the good stuf from happening, fodder for asset conversion...

New motor mounts are in, the junkyard radiator was about 2" too wide.

When the shit dont fit, CUT IT! Still need to adapt a way to fit the mismatched hose and outlet sizes, thats todays project.

I mean it- he has helped me out so many times on parts and car deals I cant tell you -
It finally felt good that he asked for some little favor from me.he was a happy camper! [IMG]

Washed the pickup, entertained grandson, and granddaughter, washed carb and intake.
opened door on 47, measured for seat.
Friend came by and updated me on his 61 Ss 409 project.
Found out local old car salvage owner is now on dialisis and is having his yard crushed.
If you need anything from J&M at Goodman, Mo, better get it NOW or it will be gone.
There are some cars with titles still available..
Took my social director, financial director, and vice president of Covert's Horse and Mule Barn out for dinner.
Can hardly wait for tomorrow, gonna re arange the attached garage so I can move some stuff out of the real shop to make room for the 47 to come together.

How about running the two different hoses then connect them with those exhaust pipe thingys? They are a piece of exhaust pipe about 4" long, one side might be 1 1/2" diameter and the other side might be 1 3/4". They have a zillion sizes and combinations of those.

I got my rebuilt 360 back into my Dodge van parts chaser.

When I took it out, I had the cherry picker right on top of the manifold, motor got stuck between the cross member and the dashboard. This time I hooked up the motor to the cherry picker without the intake manifold. It went in like a charm.

I'm trying out those plumbing things with the two clamps that adapt different sizes of plumbing... with a piece of galvinized pipe. We'll see if it stands up to temp and presh.

galvanized pipe works good I hear. A buddy had a radiator outlet that was the opposite side of the motor outlet. He made a connecting tubing out of a cyclone fence post.

I spent Saturday morning scraping TEXAS CLAY off of my new 1955 287 Poncho mill and then gave it a couple of turns to see how free it was inside. I t didn't put up fight.

Finally found the time to get the original front axle / spring off my '31, probably get the dropped axle under the car next week end. One problem - the wishbone is wider than the new axle. I'll have to reshape it, and painted.

Actually had a good Saturday, for once! Cleaned, masked and got a 66 GTO in the booth for a final priming, before the last sanding. Candy Apple Red paint is next.
Did some more welding on my dash for the 46 Chevy, almost ready for plastic work.
Trimmed, and tacked in the roof center on the Kopper Kart. The chop is almost done!
Painted a couple models for Vic, to be ready for the NNL in NJ in a couple weeks. He's coming out with some more resin kits of cars unavailable in 1/25 scale, including a phantom "Nomad", based on my Kustom 55 Olds body!
Couldn't have done it without help from the guys, either...Ron, Vic, and even Ed!

Fronts off. This MO car refuses to lose the bolts like the TX car. Kinda like it knows it's being killed, refuses to go quietly. Last tetenus was in '86, better get one soon. [IMG]

Installed the engine/trans into the Merc chassis, more to get it up off the floor than anything else. I did find some clearance issues that I need to work out so I guess it was good that I did it now. This is a 2002 LS1 with a 4L60E trans...just in case you were wondering about all the plumbing...

Made a trip to "Murder City" on saturday to make some money and pick up the rest of the Triumph parts that were included in the basket case. On the way home, picked up a harley fxr front end from a friend, and today I'm mocking it up to see if I like the 21" front wheel, 16" rear.

Last week I also picked up another triumph frame that will be project number two...that one is super secret...no pics, but this is a pic of project number one.

I spent part of the day getting this home. This is the tenth 1940 Ford pickup I have here. The pic doesnt show the very nice hood, front fenders, bumper, grill, and lots of small parts.

Charlieled, there is a local shop building a Packhard coupe from a sedan and using an engine like yours with a six speed.
They sent the manifolds and heat shields to Streetrod and Performance in Mena, Ark.
the manifolds were ceramic coated and the heat shields chromed.
    Talk about a killer effect?
    Really looks nice.

Today, I cleaned out the attached garage, put stuff in the attic over the attached garage, washed the 62, took it for an outing, found the AZone fan was not working(the hard way) bought all the gallon jugs of water at the nearest conv. store, got it home, looked at the fan and shroud hanging on the wall, decided the fan and shroud were going back on the car..
Now I have to find someone I do not like and give them the AZone fan.

I installed hardwood flooring in the dining room. Not directly automotive-related, but it got me bonus points for when I lobby for spending our tax refund on a Model A tudor sedan. [IMG]

Got Jim A's model A parts for him and prepared them to be shipped.....assembled the left front brakes on my 41 Pontiac coupe and shortened the front coil spring on that side by 2 loops....got a 12" piece of thick walled 2"X3" tubing to construct rear lowering blocks. Waiting on outer wheel bearings...
Loaded my swap meet trailer for the first major swap meet of the year next Sunday.

Don't they look good like that?
Randy Jones, a local here, is building his wife a Metro. Crystal's car will have a tubing frame and Pinto engine along with auto trans.

I pulled apart the engine that was in the Elky.
Drained about a gallon of water out of it and managed to salvage one piston and con-rod, the crank, and the oil filter mount.
    The rest is shit..
I think it got sabotaged on the guy.
It has bent con-rods from hydraulicing.
But hey, if it ran I wouldn't have got it so cheap, hell probably not at all!

Yea I've got another motor to put in it.

Way too much to list. All I can say is the between Friday night and now I got to spend a good 18 quality hours in the shop.
Now I'm beat and it's time for a beer!

  30. Finally bringing this home... Went and visited it and made arrangements to get it to my place. I paid for it last September [IMG]
