AH! the memory's..my first auto at 15 years old was a 47 Stude pickup, of course it looked nothing like these when I got it going but it was a real first time experience for me. Purchased with no motor or trans for a whooping $75 bucks. My father put a 327 in his 55 Chevy P/U so I scored the old tired 265 and rebuilt it in our garage with his and my uncles help, I found a four speed tranny and milked a few more cows to make it all come together and I was in business!
Corvairs are sweet. They are one of my dream cars. If this was mine i'd take it to the next level. Juice, crazy paint and sweet interior, and possibly mags as well. I think the square top is rad btw.
That's the one Troadster- I've never seen it in color b4! The metal work is amazing. I'd love to see a pic of the dragon next to a stocker.
I can't believe the Sir Vival sur-vived! Couldn't pay me to own it, but man I'd love to get one ride in it.
When I brought my Austin home my oldest son thought it was ugly and said, "It looks like a London cab!" He couldn't see what I saw, and didn't think it had any potential as a hotrod. 6 Months later he thought it looked like a hotrod afterall:
With out a doubt the coolest one is member NTAPHSE is 1951 kaiser 4 door! search the build thread under custom kaiser Im a huge fan of this car!
'47-'64 Volvo 544--looks like a 3/4 scale 40 Ford sedan with a strange front end on it. Saw one done up streetrod style with a V6/5 spd. STILL gives me a stiffy just remembering it!! It was in one of the magazines back in the 90s. Have been watching for one ever since! here's a side view of a stock one.
my ugly duck when i brought it home and now ok i just added some rattle can and a pretty girl but it should be pretty cool looking after this winter ;-)
