Well you were only 30 miles from where we set off from. Music? Wasn't there on the Sturday night, but with cars to natter about, pretty much anything could be playing. Or ignored. Here's 4ever4 looking for that extra horsepower. Keep trying - it's in there somewhere. Put keep those fenders, if only for these thoughtful moments! Tony Cardy's support truck. there's a pinto attatched to a 39 floor shift box under the bonnet using an A bell housing. Sorry - didn't get a picture of that! And here's a couple of niceties from the pits and carpark.
Caught me out there Ernie, not a clue who's the 39 is. or the A above it. Just liked the look of 'em.
[Ernie..my thoughts exactly...I left a note on it asking if it`s for sale.Hung around waiting for the guy to come back but missed him...saw it leaving but lost it in traffic.....the hunt is on!
On the Saturday afternoon I had a good look at the A roadster and there was a sign inside on the floor asking £12,000 (approx $21,000). It was very nice, but not that nice.... Don't remember seeing the '40 though....prolly too busy leaving Clark for dust
I'm sure it looked that way to the folks at home, but believe me, he was well and truly beat....ish. (Damn...there was just 4 thousands betweeen us for one race...) Phil....you got my mail?
Talk about dragging (geddit) threads up from the depths. Anyhoo, the 39 belongs to a mate of mine, Des Tonks. He lives local to me. He bought it from south Africa, got it on the road, then pulled the old running gear and replaced it with a chevy, th350, 9 inch and mII front end. He did a great job, and did it all in a single garage. It's a 39 deluxe and has a rumble seat, and the paint is as it was when he bought it. Mart.
You boys still driving on the wrong side of the road over there? Hello.....the right side is the right side....LOL
