And that is why I am struggling with my 16 year old on his research paper. If what you meant CAN be taken 2 ways, it will be the other.

I keep telling him "Could get your *** kicked."

I guess experience will teach him that.

"Ran before I parted it out."

And just because you drove it for 3 hours last Sunday doesn't tell me a thing. You might have only wanted to run 2 blocks to the store but the damn thing won't turn left so you had to make 45 right turns to get there.

There's a bunch of blokes advertising locally for s**** cars...

'Old cars towed away, cash paid on the spot."
    4 cyl $50-$10,000
    6cyl $60-$10,000
    8 cyl $80-$12,000
    4WD $100-$15,000

So if the 'base price' is $50-$100, why the hell are they offering 'up to' $15,000 for s**** cars?

    Cheers, Glen.

I drove over 2 hours to go see a 53 Cadillac little ways back. Was told it was a running car. When I got there it had an inspection sticker from 1976. Popped the hood and it didn't even have a battery. I said "I thought you told me this was running?" he said "It did when it had a battery in it in 1976."

Just like the cadillac parts car I went to look at. Was in the gas station when a guy asks, " hey where's the old car you were driving last week? " I mentioned the accident and he says his mom had one just like it and he would sell it cheap to help me out "cause it's just sittin there collectin dust" . Juged by the two teeth he whistled itout of I didn't believe him, but really wanted my car back on the road. Followed him home . As we were walikin down to the car he says" Yep..pretty sure its the same parts. Now its a 77, and pretty sure its a ford too, and it's missing the front right fender and the front bumper....but it'll do you just fine. Well what you think?"

Then again as I reminded him about the year, make and model as well as the damaged areas of my car....as did I in the gas station an hour earlier.

A few years ago, I heard about a "Kaiser Darrin" that was allegedly for sale as one of those unbelievable barn finds. I've seen two Darrins in my life, and they are a really unique and expensive car when done. I talked to the owner not once, but three times on the phone. Asked him some Kaiser questions that another Kaiser guy told me to ask him, and got reasonable responses. The Darrin has the very unique doors that slide into the body when opened, but I did not ask about whether they worked or not. Cool so far, right? "Bring some cash and we'll talk price when you get here!" I get the directions, hook the trailer up to the truck (this is why some of us actually own trailers, BTW!), and head out for three hours of driving fun, anticipating what I hope is a serious find...You might guess where this is going...

I drive up to the guy's fairly large barn behind his house. The whole place is kept immaculate. Everywhere! I'm thinking and hoping that this might not be a wild-goose chase. The man, in his late '60s, is very friendly and talkative as we enter the large barn. Waaay in the back are two vehicles, under old blankets and covers. A Kaiser four-door, and a Kaiser pickup from the early '60s. I'm impressed at the condition of the vehicles, but ask him immediately about the whereabouts of the "Darrin". He points to the sedan, and said "That's it, right there!"...I'm thinking "what????" We talked for a while, anyway. I did not want to show my disappointment that this was not the car I was hoping to see, and I did look over the car pretty well, since it was in such nice shape. Had it been a two-door, I'd have probably bought it, anyhow! It ended up good. I took a few pics of it and forwarded them to a friend, who did end up buying the Kaiser Manhattan.
