Outside of the park brake and absolutely needed things it would walk right through inspection here with the MSO on the frame. It might even be titled as a 32 or repro 32 now. I used to see guys have screaming fits in this state because their Cobra kit cars were titled as 20-- assembleds rather than 1966 Cobras. I think some of them are the ones who got some of the rules changed. I haven't searched that guys state's regs but it may all come down to the simple fact that he wants to title it as a 32 Ford rather than a repro/kitcar/assembled vehicle. They do have a kit car process that is reasonably simple. https://dmv.ri.gov/registrations-plates-titles/safety-emissions-inspections/kit-vehicle-inspections Rhode Island fender law = 2013 Rhode Island General Laws Title 31 - Motor and Other vehicles Chapter 31-23 - Equipment and Accessories Generally Section 31-23-26 - Fenders and wheel flaps required. Universal Citation: RI Gen L § 31-23-26 (2013) § 31-23-26 Fenders and wheel flaps required. – No person shall operate any motor vehicle on any public highway of this state unless the vehicle is equipped with fenders covering the front wheels of the motor vehicle, or operate any passenger motor vehicle on any public highway equipped with tires which extend beyond the fenders or body of the vehicle unless it is also equipped with flaps or suitable guards to reduce spray or splash to the rear and sides. Violations of this section are subject to fines enumerated in § 31-41.1-4. History of Section. (P.L. 1950, ch. 2595, art. 34, § 41; P.L. 1955, ch. 3539, § 1; G.L. 1956, § 31-23-26; P.L. 1973, ch. 265, § 1; P.L. 2002, ch. 292, § 120.) Looks like some simple easily removed mud flaps front and rear would satisfy the state.
Don't worry about it being outlawed , it'll just get so expensive even the rich guys won't be able to afford it !
This idiot with too much money, and ZERO automotive history knowledge is giving hard working rich people a bad name.
Sometimes it was Daddy or Grand-daddy that worked hard and was smart, and sometimes it's just pure, blind luck. Have you heard of the 'third generation rule' regarding loss of family wealth???
It could happen to anyone buying a replica/Brookville, etc. Thing that gets me is the lack of fact checking by the “reporter/news source” they took what the owner said and just ran with it. Who knows, maybe the place he bought it assured him there would be no problems, etc. Maybe he just assumed since it had proper paperwork it wouldn’t be an issue.
