I need input... I would appreciate hearing from any Ranchero guys... I saw a few pin holes in the flat panels that make up the corner bed floor and didn't think to much about it since flat sections are normally not problems repair areas... then the rotisserie adds new dimension that borders on a very stupid design... the same section is a ribbed on the bottom (show in the previous post) and flat on the top which means it is a double panel.. any moisture lays in the channel so a little rust ends up being a major issue... now my questions begin with: a) are wagons built the same way (since I own one I'll drive down to look if I don't get a response)... b) does any one produce repro replacement panel... c) does anyone know of someone who has saved these panels off a donor Ranchero/wagon that would be willing to sell or trade... I know that they can be fabricated and that will happen as a last resort...

The same section in my old '58 2 door Ranch Wagon parts car is ribbed in this section. Maybe the Ranchero had this smooth panel over top of the ribbed wagon panel section?

    Thanks for the response

That is what I suspected... which means Ranchero only donor or get wagon sections and form a new upper panel... always something

  11. EMS makes reproduction panels for the Ranchero bed floor sides but they are pricey.

EMS doesn't show any listing on the Net... Obsolete & Classic Auto Parts list them but they show both sides front & rear as a set OEM # B7A 11702

Guess I'll call around tomorrow... I still need wagon donor sections to put it back factory... please ask around for me... if you know someone that won't sell - tell them I have good trade stuff... lots of NOS and near perfect used... pass the word...

If we have to work around the rear floor area there is always plenty to do since it all has to be done at some point

Luck came from living in OH and knowing the areas that needed attention and now bad they could rust... then moving west where cars could be found and/or parted out... plus buying NOS stuff for almost 40 years

Replacement panels are based on demand... if you don't have a mainstream ride (high demand & high production)... donors generally are the only option... lower production models of even popular models fall into the same category

I'm check with my suppier for you and PM info

I have parts to trade if they don't normally won't sell parts... any input appreciated

Several days into going over any welds that need attention, hammering out a few dings, grinding, and applying All-Metal to finish off any trace of modifications... and lots of sanding... should be ready for primer soon

I only have one lead on a donor wagon... I still would appreciate your help

Thanks for the post! Makes ya wonder how nice any of the Ranchero's are under the paint... the double panels had little protection from the elements and plenty of moisture traps... after spending six years in Sacramento & five in Phoenix - I truely appreciate any rust free survivors because they rust even in the less harsh enviroment... I'm lucky because mine was owned by a Phoenix florist and I would imagine he kept plywood over the center of the bed for it to be this nice...

  29. The whole top of the bed floor must be ranchero specific the wagons had the rear seat hinge/ mount
now at this point if you put in a rear fold down seat that would be ok with me..
