  6. this is the roof I cut off a '65 suburban parts truck. I am thinking it is the perfect material to make the back of the cab. image0-4.jpeg image1-2.jpeg

  7. I cut the panel in half to eliminate the step and squared it up. I ran a bead along the long edge. image0-4 copy.jpeg

  8. I trimmed it at the lower edge of the bead. this section will be the upper part of the back of the cab and the bead section will over lap the lower panel. image1-2 copy.jpeg

  9. image2-2.jpeg I then planned out the location of the rear window. the bead will line up with the small lower bead of the side of the cab and I measured up off of that to place the rear window. the window is centered in the cab and centered up and down with the side windows. I then cut out the hole to weld the rear window frame in. image2-2.jpeg

  10. tacked it in place, then welded it up. image0-4.jpeg

  11. after welding I cleaned it all up with the grinder and DA image2-2.jpeg

  14. went to Charles to test fit and trim. I measured wrong and the bottom section came up short. I will have to weld a piece on. image0.jpeg

  15. I aligned the bead of the top section with the cab corners and marked them to be trimmed. once trim we screwed them in place temporary. image1.jpeg image2.jpeg

  16. nothing is in final, all the tin will get fitted and trimmed once all the parts are made. it will come back apart but this mockup is starting to look like a truck. image3.jpeg

  25. spent the day with Charlie, he has been busy since I last was there. He made and installed all four shock mounts. image17.jpeg image16.jpeg image14.jpeg

  26. we also finished up, the grill shell. it was missing the front receiver for the hood hinge. we riveted that, and the crank hole cover in. I also banged a couple dents out of it and put the Ford badge on. we also replaced the hood hinge tube. image2.jpeg

  27. we also came up with a solution for the door latches. they would not latch without turning the handle, no matter how hard it was slammed so we added a wedge to the front of the catch we had used. it is a mismatch of parts but we made it work and the doors close effortlessly. image15.jpeg

  28. with the doors opening and closing and aligned we welded both cab corners in image13.jpeg

  29. once the cab corners were in I centered the upper half of the back of the cab, trimmed it to follow the cab corners and used the grinder to fit it. image12.jpeg
