  1. I took a ride to Charlie's yesterday afternoon to see what mischief was going on. Sure enough , Slackers were slacking. Well at least two of us were. IMG_7980.jpeg IMG_7983.jpeg IMG_7981.jpeg IMG_7982.jpeg

Great project. Looks like Charle is hiding a 40 Ford coupe from us.

same here...I miss my eyesight when I was younger...and my hands shake so much now I can thread a needle with the sewing machine running...
you are doing a remarkable fabrication job for a slacker....really enjoying seeing your approach and outcome!

    Ted,
Got behind a bit on my reading here and want to call out my amazement with the progress and creativity you “slackers” have brought to this build. Nice work and execution! Love the faux quarter window detail in the cab.

  11. I fixed my screw up . I bent up a bead on another piece of the donor roof then bent a flange along the bottom. i welded it to the bottom of the back of the cab panel at the correct height. I will finish off the cab corners after the back is welded in. image5.jpeg image6.jpeg image4.jpeg

  12. had a chance to spend the day with the slacker. we fitted up the rear floor pan and the lower back panel. image10.jpeg image9.jpeg

  13. we then fit the lower panel. I had to work the outer edges with a hammer and dolly to create the start of the cab corner. image8.jpeg
    image7.jpeg image6.jpeg image5.jpeg

  14. welded up the corners then ground them smooth image4.jpeg

  15. to finish the cab corners I need to make a couple filler pieces . I made a template . image2.jpeg

  17. Charlie laid out where he wanted the gages and I cut the holes for him. I added a few beads and stepped the original shape into the panel. image4.jpeg image3.jpeg image2.jpeg image1.jpeg image0.jpeg

  26. thanks, Charlie may do the dash two tone. Despite the mis match, those are the gages Charlie scrounged and he likes.

  27. Charlie and I were talking about it today. he plans on starting with a wood deck, then add metal pickup sides to it. We also have an old 40 ford hood to make a boat tail/turtle deck style bed covero_O.
