I'm sick to be missing this! I really need a job that pays me to do nothing...although I am in Orlando Florida this week, Napa Valley California for two weeks, etc... I can't really complain as far as work goes...

I honesty killed a vacuum cleaner because it choked up so badly on the mouse turds that were in front of the seats. I can't imagine how many are still behind and under the seats. I'll bet there is at least one human turd from the first time it was driven too. Turds seem to be a theme in this car. I think it should be renamed. There are already several cars named the Lightning Bug so maybe we need a contest to rename it. Maybe the "milk dud special" or something.

Anyway, I think we need a second shift at Bubbas! I usually get home on weekends and I want to work on this and get to Eagletuckys batmobile!!

Don't forget that Sunday the 20th is the cookout at my place. Not only is this a meat and greet but also a huge THANK YOU party for Bubba and the crew!

I agree it needs to be renamed.

    How about:
    The Mouse Turd Rocket
    The rodent dropper
    #2

    Or Simply, "THE TURD"

I like the " Potent Rodent" nice ring to it.

Never had a car in the shop that has brought out so many comments!
They range from " what a piece of ****", dude that car is a turd, theres no way i would ever even ride in that, are you guys nuts,to "thats a cool car " he gets it.

Discussed the project with Tom C last night and we both agree that anyone that can honestly say hes NEVER done any work like this has never worked on a car!

Our new motto is " WE WILL SAVE THE CAR".

Got a few more issues ironed out today. Trimed some of the inner panels that were cut with a torch and tested some Marhyde undercoating i had laying around. looks like it will work really well.
Wally came by and we took the mastercylinder off the car and gave it a blast and rebuild. Works great ,wasnt too bad inside a quick clean up, bead blast, paint and hone and it was like a new one. (Bubba Rebuild) Bled the front brakes and they seem ok but rears seem to want some attention will pull drums tomorrow.???

Hopefully the hydraulic clutch will be this easy to fix?? Its clean inside at least..

If we are going with the rodent them and the poop, why don't we play up the mouse motor and the fact that I'm in Disney World too? How about "The Mouse****eer" ?

I wonder if that was the same guy who ran the Olds powered Renault Dauphine on the streets here in the early 70's.
Can't wait to see the youtube of that VW pulling a hard holeshot.

What ever happened to that other HAMBer who was building a V8 Bug? I think he was making it a G***er.

That would be Algon. We are planning a little VW showdown at the HAMB Drags. I suspect he's gonna kick my *** (but he'll do it by cheating with the use of such things as engineering and common sense and by having 100 pounds less mouse poop in his car). I think Jesse needs to pony up and bring the Sour Kraut out too.

Great time today. It's nice to be in the same state as your friends and your car from time to time. I thought the turd polishing went quite well today. Nice to see it mocked up. Hell, nice to see it at all for that matter! I think the Dung Beetle is actually going to be pretty cool. Thanks fellas

After a good thrashing day sat, we needed to change the wheels on lindrosses Krylon Special sunday morning when i go there Wally was already there redoing the brake lines . he just couldnt let them be and redone all with new lines etc. Thanks Wally!!!!!!!
Today we got some more done with a new axle bearing, cleaned up the 50 buck transmission ( a saginaw from Monzadude thanks Kieth) and made a shifter work.
I asked scoob for a shifter ( told him we needed one) and he called Tom at Culbertsons sunday and the boys (Mike and Yancy) brought us this large box full of old shifters. ( Not exactly what i wished for , but what a challenge!!:))

Walt had started cleaning the transmission and i bummed a large chunk of 1 1/4 aluminum from the shop next door. After some work it actually fit the transmission!!
