Nice!!! You'll be racing in no time.

    No trunk!!

    Looks like goodyear tires.

Is the inspection a 1932. I know 32 was orange.

I think it's Feb.1934.Yes they are Goodyears. They were brand new in 1938,when the ch***is was parked, but they have alot of dry rot cracking.

That looks cool for a static display. Please don't drive it with the bent steering rod.

There's a tremendous stress on a drag link. That drag link will kink where you have bent it. I'm not trying to be a smart ***.

Pics of project showing are defining a cool ride! Take heed of HAMBER's suggestions on your steering.

Keep up the good work! - RGV

  16. Ditto.

conceptually cool, no trunk, but that steering arrangment makes me nervous.....hydraulic brakes are your friend....

  17. Love it! I have a gas tank like that, with the mechanical float, I've been saving for some damn thing. I vote for inline flathead Mopar power.

I really cant imagine that it could kink but,I am not opposed to any constructive criticisim(sp?).What about using a straight rod?? It would run up hill at an angle. How would that effect the steering,if at all??

  19. In a perfect world you'd have that steering arm straight, and sitting horizontal, although it will still 'function ok' at a bit of an angle...

Can you modify, or have the steering arm on the stub axle down low, prefferably from under the axle? that would allow you to have both a straight rod, as well as it sitting 'nice'..

    Cheers,

I will take another look at it.Might be able to lower the steering arm on the spindle a little bit. Thanks for the input.

You'd have to put in a differnet box with the pittman arm pointed up. I know it will be a pain in the ***. You've done a fine job with this thing. There's just some basic engineering stuff to sort out.

i'm gonna have to disagree with everyone else...run it with the ****ing trunk!

every time i see one of those, it has the pumpkin exposed like that and i say do something different. plus it looks like the orig trunk which adds some serious cool points.:)

edit:i'm having trouble typing, i found a new fav beer:D

  23. I have to agree. Use the trunk! Get some leather straps to keep it closed, that would be cool.

About the steering, can't you just flip the pitman 180 degrees and run a straight rod?

Personally, I would run the trunk, for my own sick and demented reasons. It's your call.

How about making it removeable, so ya can run it when ya want, then leave it home when ya dont?

If you want it to steer backwards, you could! Kinda like a drunk driving simulator or something?:D:D

  29. Got any more updates yet???????

  30. How about moving the steering arm to the bottom of the spindle ? That would help get the draglink level if you can do it.
