Sorry beaulieu, I know you said not to tell anyone, but the tension this thing has created is just too much.

Here is a pic of what he is looking at.

Well, I too read seven pages wanting to see the mystery car. Didn't happen. I chased after this '58 vette six years and the guy kept saying it was not for sale and he was going to fix it!!! I kept driving by his farm wondering if someone else was going to get it. He had it in the middle of a field by some cattle pen out in the open for better than 20 years. All I could see from the road was the short top.

Anyway, one day I was driving thru had cash and an unloaded trailer, so I gave him another try. Surprised me as he said, "Guess I'm not going to do anything with it, I'll sell it you you". I said, here's the money, let's load it. Not sure if I can find the title--I said we will take care of that later.

It wouldn't roll, all flat and the rear tires were only held partially with one bolt. Luck was on my side and he had a boom truck on site. I made some slings with my 2" straps and he hoisted it up and I drove my trailer under it. Took me a week at the shop to get the drums to free up to roll it off the trailer.

He also had the correct '58 rear clip in the brush. I had to bring a chain saw to free that, but that's another story. Joe.
