This old guy takes my dad(20+ years younger) for a ride in his plane for as a thank you for my dad for delivering meals on wheels to him. When they return to the airport, He tells my dad he`s the oldest pilot in Iowa, No ,he`s the oldest pilot in the United States. He`s 97. Ernie Smith. You just never know.

Well, my friend came by the shop again today and dropped off a couple more stacks of old magazines. I am fortunate to call him a friend. He said there will be more to come as he gets to them in the attic.

Starting with the oldest in the pile tonight I found this feature on the Calori coupe with a Rex Burnett cutaway. I had not seen this before. Very cool to read these articles as if it were actually 1949. Am I crazy? Well yes, maybe so. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1460520991.383188.jpg

And yes, 59 Impala front lower valances are the same as 59 El Camino.

Thanks El Camino Kid. I'll keep that in mind. Right now another HAMBer is checking his stash to see what he has. If that falls through I'll check those out.

  10. Hello! Bill Waddill is my Dad! Can you tell me what the gentleman's name is that you got the magazines from?
