Lets see your car WITHOUT the big buck paint jobs. No paint, partial paint, as found paint, raw finish. image.jpeg Not rat rods but hot rods, street rods, customs, cruisers, whatever finish you are running and intend to leave that way, at least for now.

My shiny painted cars don't have the big buck paint jobs. Do they count? :)

I shot some clear lacquer over mine just to protect the sun baked and chipping paint

  10. My old 41 Pontiac was in an enclosure with goats before I bou[[/ATTACH] 41rear.jpg 41atJimcparty04.jpg ght it and they played king-of-the-hill on it. The black paint was so marred up I went over it with a scotchbrite pad and it looked much better

  18. This is my heap as found. It may run this way for a while as I am planning on making it motate first then worrying about the body.

46 CHEVY LEFT REAR.JPG Hi. My 46 Chevy Coup is a daily driver & I live 1/4 mile down a gravel drive from the road way out in the country. Although the photos do not show it bug splat, bird poop & rock chips are regular visitors to it. Occasionally a neighbors dog uses one of my tires if they wander by when it is not in the garage. I love to go to car shows with it but it just shows too much daily wear to pick up trophies as the judges are more into custom street rods & big V8 engines but the public really likes it & I get my satisfaction from them. You can just barely make out the HAMB decal in center of rear bumper. Trailer hitch now covers that up so I need to order a couple of the larger size ones for the front & rear.
I love the hood louvers on the blue F1 truck.

gusmachoFord shown.jpg 005.JPG I almost understand someone not having the time right away to paint some shiny on,but I don't go with the idea"I can't aford the shiny",sure there is some high$ stuff out there and we'd like, but shiny can be about the same cost as primer . Shiny that is cheep is not going to hold color great for a long time ,but will seal n protect far better then primer or satin by its self an be much EZer to keep clean. My roadster for years has been shiny,Gloss Black Rustolim with E hardern in it,buffed and polished out, cost other then some hard work=about $20. yes I keep my rod in my garage, not out in the sun every day. Would I like some higher $ paint, sure but my shiny black looks pertty good and dosen't scair hell out of me every little scratch.

Here's my 50 Ford that sat in an Oklahoma field for who knows how long and my 31 Ford pu that still has a little original paint on it. Not much though. It's been awhile since I posted these on the HAMB so maybe somebody will get a kick out of them.

My latest project, 29 roadster, 283 Ofenhauser 3x2, in mock-up. I've made a few short trips in it, and it is really fun to drive. DSCN0805.JPG DSCN0804.JPG
