Surprised to find the normally free camping suddenly cost $40.00 per night ! Not nearly as many campers was the result. Greed strikes again ! Burnout show probably worth the admission Friday night

Last time I went, I just slept in the back of my 57 Chevy station wagon, parked at random on the street. No problem

Without knowing all the facts it may not be greed - they may have been running at a loss and needed to find a way to break even.

You can bet that the folks that run the Expo center figured out that they could generate some added revenue there. Not horrific if you have a self contained trailer or motorhome but a bit stiff for guys in tents.

40 bucks is cheap compared to some motels,we all dislike change but if you want to play your going to have to pay,at least camping is a option. HRP

$40 is a surprise, nonetheless. Free last year, now 'Gimme $40.' That's the point.

Well, sort of. It was on the internet site if you drilled down far enough. We have gone the last five years so wasn't expecting it for sure. They still didn't charge for parking, only camping.
Next year we'll check the website and go from there. McKinney Falls state park isn't too far and $20.00 a night.

i remember and always enjoyed camp out type car shows. there used to be more weekend events where they included camping. you could get away for under $40 for a weekend.......including food, beer and fuel.

My fault for not checking. Seems an unfair way to gain " control" of the camping but they succeeded.

$40 with no electricity or water I could handle. No toilets would piss me off
