I was told that the jack*** owner is under house arrest and the co-owner Frank (good guy, former SuperStock racer) is in charge of emptying out all the cars.I also heard Frank was going to keep some cars.Don't know the status of what's left, but maybe if numb nuts loses control some good parts might flow out to live again.Any body have any solid info on what's going on?

not sure on current events, but there is a junkyard in Jackson NJ as stated that has old vintage items. I have heard it was appointment only to things like the guy would only sell if he liked you or he would charge alot. crazy old coot happenings. never personally been there, just heard from teh g****vine from various unrelated sources.

    Touchy site eh?

OK I'm from NJ and I am 64 yrs old and a NHRA Stock mElim. drag racer who also is in the process of slowly building a 1965 Rambler American S/W.
I had 55/56 chevies years ago but started with AMC cars in 1971 with a
    1968 Rambler American with a 390 AMC and a 4 speed.
As far as Unique I didn't think it needed an intro since there was a thread about it last year ( when I was a "lurker") about the owner, who is a horses ***.He made prices just to f#*k with people.Since then he got a partner named Frank Brenniser who supposedly is now running the yard
because his partner is supposedly under house arrest on charges I won't
name because I don't know how reliable my source is.If true it's not pretty.
The yard was mostly 50s-60s with quite a few 40s and some 70s.
    hope that answers your questions.

I've driven by that yard a few times but not recently and had been thinking of stopping by to check it out one of these days.

Might be time to go have a look, any Model A's in there?

I know he's got lot's of old Caddies.

  13. This is one of thoses places that if you live in NJ, you already know about it for years. To the rest of you this topic would seem cryptic to most figuring what he was saying. I've haven't been there myself as I've heard how hard it is to deal with him. However, I do know two guys local to me that seem to be able to deal with him most of the time. I'll also check today and see what the news is on the status of the place. If stuff can finally be bought by commoners, it is well worth checking on. And yes, he does have a lot of caddys.

Was there twice when original owner was there and lets just say it was an EXPERIENCE. There last time I was there about 2 years ago there was still quite a bit of vintage iron on the property. Probably worth the trip is you are within 100 miles.

Been there many times. The guy's a kook. Tries to charge to $5 just to walk around the yard. If you DO find something you want, he charges an arm and a leg for it.

Don't believe it? I wanted a 50 Caddy bumper off one of the junks....and it was rusty and junky.....barely useable as a core for plating. The guy wanted 350$ for it! My pal Vic was in PA at one of his favorite yards and picked one up for me, for $75.

    Unless you're desperate for a part...NOT recommended.
Unless this new partner is an OK dude......

Jackson in Ocean County. Been there a few times. My dad bought a back window for his '47 Pontiac and some other stuff. Prices are high, and it definitely depends on if he likes you or not. I'd like to know what the deal is too so that I can plan a trip this weekend.

Any updates on this? I want to plan to go down this weekend if this is true and cars are being cleaned out.

  21. I spoke with the people who know him and said as of last month he was pretty ill and stays home not going down to the yard. Probably the story of "house arrest" tho they knew nothing of that sort of thing. They said call down the yard is the best thing, I don't want to post the guys personal cell number....Unique Auto Wreckers 470 Chandler Rd - 732 363 3990 open weekends. Let me know what you find....

I was there a while back just looking to see what they had.
Like it was posted there are a bunch of 50's Caddys and the guy was using a giant fork lift to move around cars. He was just pounding the **** outta real usable old iron and it was just a shame.
Never came across anything older then the 40's but it was a fun place to look around. The old coot musta been in a good mood that day because he let us just walk around for a while.

    Great for a picture safari.
