IMG_5393.jpeg IMG_5394.jpeg Has anyone used United Pacific LED taillights? I ordered a set of United Pacific 110111 for my 1940 Chevy truck.

There were no instructions, just a crappy confusing diagram on the back of the packaging. I’m not new to wiring, I’ve successfully done complete custom wiring jobs front to back, but this has got me baffled.

My stock tailights have two bulbs each. These new LED bulbs have a dip switch and a small molex connector that aren’t even referenced on the diagram. What the hell do I do with those. Step 1 says to disconnect the existing wire that goes to the turn signal switch, but yet it shows a wire going to the brake light switch. Can anyone help translate these awful instructions?

The connector is if you want to use the brake attention module. You don't have one so you don't use it.
The switch turns on the sequential function of the light. Try it both ways and see which way you like.
You can call U.P. for more info. 866.327.5288

So I called them today and the gentleman I spoke with said that the yellow wire is optional, so I didn’t connect it to anything. I just connected the black, red and white wires according to the instructions on the box.
So I’ve got parking lights and brake lights, but no brake lights when the parking lights are on. Turn signals work. Just no brake lights when parking lights are on. Any ideas?

I saw some 37 lights recently and was most impressed with the brightness. So many idiots on the roads these days anything that makes you more visible has to be a plus. They looked reasonably obviously multiple led when lit but not so much when off. I'm going to get some.

Simply put, are your brake lights wired through the turn signal switch? Yes____ NO____.
