I'm not entirely sure what to call the part I'm looking for, so searching for it has been a wee difficult... I have '96 Jeep Grand Cherokee V8 that I've converted from an auto to manual trans, which Jeep never offered as a factory combination. While this is likely far newer than most vehicles here, I figured with the number of street rods with modern interiors, you guys would likely know where to point me. What I'm looking for is the rubber seal/boot that goes immediately on top of the trans tunnel cover, underneath the center console, not the boot that covers the shifter itself on top of the console. I know I'll either have to make something, or modify something from a different vehicle, but hours of Google searching keeps coming up with hits for the boot on top of the console. Asking on various Jeep forums typically get responses of being SOL or going junkyard hunting to find something that will work. But being in the Arizona desert, its rare enough to find any rubber seal that hasn't turned to dust. Besides, I find it hard to believe that people building rods worth tens of thousands are going junk yard hunting for seals, lol. So, A- what the heck is the name of the part im looking for, and where might i find such a thing?
