I'd like to see such a critter, being that I come from the land of utes. Ford did the first one in 1934. Others may argue the toss with examples of similar things, but the word as it applies came from Ford in 34 as a standard production vehicle. edit: and a pickup is not a ute and neither is a roadster, phaeton or anything else with the back cut off.
The Studebaker was made in Canada, right hand drive, and then shipped overseas, to England or Australia. It was called a Coupe Utility because the cab and back bed are all one piece, I have seen pictures of a 1928 Studebaker Ute that is Australia, so I thought that this would be right in saying it is a UTE. I will work on getting pictures posted, the Studebaker is right now in pieces in the back corner of my garage covered up because of work being done on the house. Thanks Mike
