I was helping a friend go thru his Dad's stuff today. Found old license plates. Found a set of 2 matching plates from ILL from 1926. They have never been mounted. No marks in the paint from the screws, just a few storage scratches. Looks like there was paper in between the two to protect them for years because some of the paper was still on the letters on one of them. I am glad my car is not a 26 or I would have to have them. But I would still like them . They are cool. I don't know the value. Want to make a fair offer. What do you guys think?
More desireable, and if the state allows you to use YOM (year of manufacture) plates them the value goes up.
if hes a good friend he would want you to have them...........if he has no plans for them.................
I have a set of 1933 plates that had never been mounted, and still in great shape, wrapped in brown paper...... Paid 110 bucks for them. If that helps.
