My girls are just under 6’ and I’m 6’-6”, so I can appreciate the work done to make it more comfortable for her and her dad to drive.

I have no respect for Taylor Swift after she bashed the cobra in one of her videos ! Even if it was a kit car, that's wrong.

I am confused. Isn’t the steering wheel almost touching the seat? Is it adjustable for getting in and out? Let us in on solving the mystery, no matter how skinny someone is if you can’t get your leg between the wheel and the seat how could you get in?

I question too but somebody ***ociated with the build would have posted by now or maybe that little chrome lever protruding from bottom of dash is column lock, or maybe turn single switch. Lol. Anthony how did you solve and what did you solve?

    NOPE !!! I can’t dig it .

  11. She can ease in and out well.
The laid back seat is also different.
The seat is further back than normal and laid back. She was fitted to the car during the build. So I guess she got what she wanted.
Alan mentioned using a pillow (for his back I’m ***uming) when he drives it.
but it wasn’t built for him

isn’t the bottom of the steering wheel an inch above the seat? Or is there more room than that?

    Thanks for the nice words.

One trick I use inside a show is to get down on my knees with the camera as close to the floor as possible. You'd be surprised how much of that background mess disappears behind the subject car when you do that

    Hello,

The original photos from the internet at the time of the car show is taken at such an angle that it looks so close to the seat. Unless they disconnected it for the car show, the camera played tricks with all of our eyes.
(Plus, a new build, full padding in the seats, not being used daily, so a little puffy at the roadster show arena.)
upload_2024-5-18_17-1-41.png As the standard photos from a different camera and photographer shows, the top of the steering wheel is over the top of the roadster door. It may be a little lower, as the builder says it is a custom creation mount they specifically made for this set up. The owner certainly is not a big person in bulk or size, so it fits her perfectly as shown

Most of us like more room between the bottom of the wheel and the top of the legs. Also, mounted a little higher up, giving plenty of room for larger legs and bucket seats or some kind of seating. Deep seats would allow more room for clearance. The bench is higher using the custom approach just for a thin stature.
upload_2024-5-18_17-3-53.png Normal for big guys? Probably not this time...

The whole build is a GNRS build. It is a nice looking roadster with money well spent. Most would feel guilty driving it daily to the 7-11 for necessities or to a Ralph’s grocery store, just because it would have to be left outside without anyone guarding it. Certainly, it would not be used in a night time run to the store just because it is dark outside and who knows what is lurking out there… ha!

Open roadsters, nice to drive in the daylight and standing guard at car shows or outdoor arenas. But the Brinks Security Guards would need to add this for protection during such events and overnights. Left outside at a friend’s house at night? Even in a driveway? Probably not this roadster…

It reminds me of a very old song... "a white sport coat and a pink carnation... circa 1957." Black, white and pink were big back in those early days... but why? These days, the white sport coat would be black... YRMV

  18. I asked the builder about the color.
I mentioned some don’t like it
The response in a nut shell:
    “They don’t have to”

Is there any particular reason for the steering wheel to be that far from the dash?

That steering wheel position reminds me of my daughter’s MG. Very sporty, and once you are in it feels natural. Now, getting in is an adventure though.

I really like the color [ looks a little darker in this photo ] and the flames! It is still somewhat of a cookie cutter car to me right down to the Buy it and Bolt it radical windshield.

I'd drive it while wearing my hot pink shirt with dark pink pin stripes with a smile on my face.

    I like her at***ude. :D

Gorgeous car, she should be proud of it.

  29. That’s was a quote from the builder.
Her quote would sound basically the same but probably worded much differently?:)
Basically no one involved cares if the color or anything else bothers anyone.
