Ugh. This thing just gets sweeter everytime I look at the updates. You guys totally rule it. Out of curiousity (maybe a dumb question), but would the br*** etch process work on Aluminum too? Love every part of this build so far. The grille is turning out perfect. I better stop now or my nose will be as brown as the initial concept drawings.

Although no one's commented, I dig this idea. Eliminates the glare from the polished hood problem too.

    It's definitely a great option.

  16. I like the scallops, but the difference in the down angle of the scallops as they intesect the body line, make the car look broken. Can you bring the top of the scallop (that is on the hood seam) down as well and adjust the bottom portion down, so it flows more into the trim line/ top of the seat/ hood seam.
Basically the front scallops and hood look separated from the rest of the car.

I agree...but it seemed like that was the bast option...when I tried to have the scallops follow the front they looked funny when they were behind the pipe. and vis versa like you mentioned...but at least this way the scallops flow with the respected body lines...although yes the 6 needs to be moved back further as mentioned earlier.

OK, here's some more progress from the past couple of nights.

Matt hand-bent all of the grille bars and got a little over half way wending them in. They'll get adjusted and finished next.

I got a little further on the dash pieces. Got the gauge hole to fit the gauge (the gauge was actually slightly oval), mounted the headlight switch and the two indicator lights.

But, before we got started last night Matt took me for a spin in his newly-running '37. ****, it HAULS ***!!

    A 2009 Legion Spl. :D

I could be wrong, but it actually looks like an early '50s Stewart Warner "all-in-one" Marine gauge.

Damn! You're good! As close as I can tell it's from 1951. I saw it shown in the 1951 Stewart Warner catalog - in the marine section.
