It's been a while since the last update, and while on the surface it may not look like I got much done; I actually got a lot of pain in the**** stuff checked off the list. I re-did the cowl and tonneau cover becuase I wan't happy with it and fabbed the oil tank minus filler and fittings. I also made the winndshield frame and mocked up a windscreen. I also got the rear corners for the belly pan completed as well. The big thing is; that I got the tonneau, hood, grill shell and cowl in final priime. Additionally, I got the 2.3 Ford engine cleaned up and ready to start mocking engine placement, mounts etc. Have also been busy tracking down other parts needed for this build as well. Here are the links for the previous posts on this build. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=335218 http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/s...d.php?t=324439 http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/s...d.php?t=328624 http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=337183
Im really liking this build.I am planning on building a modified myself next but not a single seat. There's lot's of good ideas on this build. I'm sure I will steal a couple of them. Gregg
More great work. I'm also building a track roadster with a 2.3 with weber sidedraft and a header exaust out the side of the hood to give it an offy look with the hood on it. Keep up the great work!!
Thanks guys for the compliments and encouragement; it's appreciated. I'm hoping to get this thing down on four wheels with-in the the next couple of weeks.
Here's a pic of the car at approximate ride height. The goofy guy in the image is there to give you an idea of the scale of the car. Keep in mind than the axle will be located in front of the body. I just swung the engine in and will doing the mounts etc. tomorrow.
