Oh my God! That thing is IT! I love those Hudsons from the factory anyway, but that just goes beyond cool. One of my favorite customs of all time.

That's Freak'n Killer. The chop is outstanding, flows flawlessly. Great colour choice, prep and finish. Great job, man! My hat is off.

Love it! Perfect color and proportions, the front fender/headlight treatment is alot more noticable with paint on it.

Thanks guys. I'm pretty pleased with the way it turned out. It took 2x as much work, time and $$ than I thought it would, but the paint is gorgeous.

It's 54 Buick ***ian Red, I wanted a color that would look *right* on a car that a fella would have built in 55.

There are a few more things to do on the exterior, polish the hubcaps, weld the side window stainless, etc. but for the most part, it's done externally.

    Now for the interior...

Perfection. Love the 50's kustom style combined with original Hudson characters that you managed to preserve. New color fits perfect. Good work!

Sorry I've been away chasing other threads. But the update is awesome, and that's something HAMBers come back for, time and again!

I just want to say again that your blend of good visual judgement and RESTRAINT really makes your Hudson YOURS . . . and it will be a trophy-winner, I'm willing to bet! I can't recall the last time a shaved car looked so good. And NOW that I see the stock tail light bezels at their best, I'll eat my previous sole criticism! Actually losing the hood ornament and KEEPING the tail lights were both astute moves, stylistically speaking!

    IT ROCKS!

I agree that it is great to keep some of the original Hudson stuff but keep them guessing as to what it really is!!I kept the original dash but upgraded with modern instruments,54 Hudson steering wheel and Hudson wheelcovers. My biggest regret is not using Hudson tail lights like yours and instead went for repro 49 Merc. What the F**K was I thinking!!

I side with James D again. The rear end is VERY together, balanced and well thought out. The way you rendered the tail lights is tasteful, and the through-the-bumper exhausts look factory. (That must have been a project unto itself, logistically and back-account-wise!) The trim is restrained, just right. Many guys put most of the effort into making a statement with the front end, and the rear becomes an (obvious) afterthought. Yours is primo!

BTW, got a pic of the front end???

I'm kind of bummed out. I just bought a brand new pair of windshields, and cut them myself. They cut beautifully. Then, when I installed them, I think I tightened the top of the driver's side windshield too much, and it cracked. Nuts.

That, my friend, is a very well executed custom. I like the grille change and the final color choice! Way to improve the styling on a car that is beautiful stock!
