Yeah it looks way too close to the carbs so none of the above

It looks that way, but the whole thing will be ceramic coated and it will be header wrapped right under the carbs if necessary. Hopefully just the ceramic coat will be enough.

heat shields would be cooler than that header wrap.

I vote #4................but it's your car.............do it the way Matt will be build it

  6. 120* headers.
    (Think 180* headers on a V8.)

Typical inline six firing order is: 1-5-3-6-2-4.

Pair cylinder primary tubes every 120*.
Running two primaries into one collector/Y/juncture will give you triple pipes and not merely duals.

Running two primary tubes into one secondary tube then the three secondary tubes into one collector gives you 720* headers.

Running all six tubes - of equal length - into one tube also gives you 360* headers.

Triple pipes - depending on how they're paired - have an interesting sound.

Take note of the six cylinder sound from V8 180* headers.

    720* headers my own term
360* headers commented on by Smoky Yunick.

In any event, the math police will be along any time now....:D

  7. I actually like the idea of header wrap!

Like Zibo says, heat shields, not header wrap. And since yer askin', I like the look of the mods with the exhaust horizontal, as viewed from the side. you could still curve it to follow the body.
I do think the tractor seat n' handlebars for the riding mechanic has potential, though! Anybody know a mechanic with a death wish?

Heat shields are a good idea. We'll look at it.

My brother did this on a "shortstar" motor in a sand car, now it sounds like a Ferrari.

Option #2 was the best. Then your exhaust could at least breath better.

I'd go with option 3, just make sure that you mount the rollerskate mounting brackets in double-shear. We don't want to see someone get hurt, ya know...

I like what you have going...but I think I would stick to the original top sketch. Go with a slight mandrel bend in the pipe to make it "swoop" with the car more. Right now, I'm seeing to many sharp bends.

    Just my opinion though...

Hell, don't care about the exhaust now, I just look at the pics the "question" has brought out. All saved to my ideas to steal book. Luv 'em!

Kirk, I would make it long enough so the exhaust sound is behind your head. Your gonna hate that thing if it's too short and next to your left ear. Just a thought.

That's exactly why it's the length that it is.

You guys are really working that pipe nicely, looks good - not that there is anything wrong with that.

I like option 3... it looks like a great way to go out in style.........

  27. I vote for Option #2 and would like an additional vote that you can only enter and exit the car on the drivers side only with no exhaust shield.

Damn, I could have gone all day without that mental image.:D

Looks good quys. No matter how you end up doing the exhaust, I'm sure it will look good and sound great.
