Like I said in my last post I wanted to finish up the sheetmetal in a week or so. I have gotten most of it wrapped up. Its taken me a week to post more pics but I did get it done over the last long weekend.
I got a Meco midget torch from my wife for Xmas last year and have been playing around with it a bit. I have welded all of the sheetmetal on the 56 with it (except areas I can't reach with a dolly).

I have all of the panels done now. They all need a little dolly work yet.
You can see just above the wheel opening that I used mig welding and how it sucked in a bit. The inner fender doesn't give any room for hammer welding so I wire welded it there. I am not opposed to using some filler in those areas. Overall though it is pretty straight. I'm getting the hang of the O/A welding and hammering. All of the O/A welds used little to no filler rod and hammered straight pretty quick Its a little tough going at it teaching myself but I think I'm catching on. On to the Air ride....

How much easier is it to make those beads with that torch VS a regular harris or victor with a 0 tip? They look a lot smaller than the best I can do and, though I'm sure a lot of it is technique, I assume SOME is due to the small, precise flame...

    Thanks guys!
It is a bit of a challenge. I'm no pro nor claim to be. I dig figuring this stuff out as I go.
I have found the Meco to be A LOT more maneuverable than a Harris. The tip assortment allows for welding some very thin material. The best part is they are about 35% the cost of a Henrob. They do not however have cutting ability.http://www.tinmantech.com/html/meco_midget_torch.php

Pulling the glass makes all of the paint work a bit more finished looking. Besides, the windshield was pitted and the rubber was dryed up. I'm a sucker for a project.:)
