Well, it is no secret the lander is for sale. I have BIG plans after it is gone and I can open up a stall in the garage. Tdoty came by the ranch the other day to pick up a load of stuff and asked me if this truck I had in there was the "top secret" project. No, I just have been lazy and there wasn't anything to say about it, until now, but it isn't the exciting stuff like throwing on wheels or new paint. Just basic chassis stuff, and since I am not Littleman, it is kind of boring really. Ha Ha Ha

I have been a bum all summer long since it has been hot. I drug a 36 Chevy truck in to build a beater out of it for Bonneville next year, the Rocket Queen" Ha Ha Ha. I tore it apart and that is where it ended up for the summer.

I have been tinkering with it the past week or so since it has been nice in the evenings. I planned on getting the chassis done over the weekend, but it seems that I just ended up getting drunk over at Brian's (the Tommi Gunn's new owner) house.

Anywho, I got this truck from Skyspop last year. It sat around until I realized I had almost everything to build it laying around.

I pulled a pair of 36 Ford wishbones out of the stash and I put them on an 8 inch ford rear end. It may get a posi unit in it, I haven't decided yet. It isn't like it will be a monster horsepower machine or anything, jsut a driver. The rear will be a transverse rear spring. I haven't got all of this welded down yet. Maybe after I get back from the HAMB drags.

I was going to use a Plymouth double dip front axle on it, but after I got it in there it didn't have enough drop to it, so I just bought a new speedway unit since I am the king of 1-800 shopping. Actually it was 1-800-abomber30. Ha Ha Ha Thanks Drew!

Inkorekt seems to be having issues with his unit so I told him he could have the plymouth axle for his hoopdie. Why is his life so much tougher than everybody else's?

I knocked the stock crossmember out of the front after welding on a stabilizer bar to hold it steady. I put in a new crossmember that I made. It took me a few tries to figure out what half of 23.5 inches was, but I finally got it on the 3rd try! ha ha ha

I picked up a pair of chassis engineering motor mounts when I was at Louisville and stuck them on top of the frame so the motor doesn't hang down too far. I boxed the frame last night where the motor goes. I will take it all apart and finish weld it up on a pair of sawhorses later. I may be buying a TIG so I thought this may be good practice. I may leave all of the stock crossmembers in there. They look kind of cool and bend around that bellybutton like it was meant to be in there. As long as they don't hang too low, they will stay.

I need to notch the frame for clearance and I will fill the notch with some plate steel to reinforce it. I plan on using the stock chevy hydraulic shocks on it that mount on the front frame horns so I need to make sure it is sturdy.

I was going to mount some guide lights on it, but it looks like a pair of BLC's without marker lights will have to do the trick.

This one probably will get a chop. It is not full of wood the way the spacetruck was. I need to get it together and eyeball it first. The roof is all caved in and I kind of liked it that way, that and the bullet holes in the back window. I will probably lean the a pillars back instead of adding to the roof if I do it to give it that racy look.

Does anyone have a 36 Chevy Truck windshield frame? I need one.

Yes I intend on running the artillery wheels. They are from a 36 terraplane and have a 4.5 inch bolt pattern.

As for being a winner, I dunno about that. It is just a beater truck, nothing special.
