Very nice! 2" - 3" lower in front would be just right.

After you drive it for awhile you will probably not like the original trans and rear end plus you wont be able to go over 50 without the motor screaming,Buffalo interprises make adapters for T-5s and with a 55/7 car rear end it will be a different car. I drove my 37 p/u with the original trans and rear end for 8 years and it was terrible and now with the T-5 and modern rear end I like it alot better.

Yep, Beautiful. Fords aren't more desireable, just more of them. The Chevys, Doge, Plymouth's, Nash, Hudson, etc. are hands down more beautiful. The only way Fords stood out (in the day) was because of more power from the V8 motors. :D

  8. AWESOME !!! - I have a 33 # windered Chevy Coupe-nice to see a good speciman of what they looked like before they were touched - -what are you gonna do with it and are there anymore where that beauty came from ???

My wife loves it ,and being a fresh resto 30 yrs or so ago
it drives like a new car ,the 235 and rear handle 65-70 mph
no problem ,remember it has a 235 six and a newer stlye rear end with hyd brakes
I think I will keep it

If it will handle 65 there is no need to change anything,it must have a later powerglde rear.

I may need to re-think 65 it may be closer to strong 55 ,the trans is non sync 1st gear ,may want to do the upgrade ,will a T-5 bolt up to a 235

Not knowng what bellhousing it has I cant tell you exactly what needs to be done but I know buffalo enterprises makes a adapter to mout a T-5 to the 37 to 54 car bellhousings but I think they have a primitive website so you can get a phone number or email address and see if they can help you. If I find any info I will post it and they are up in Washington state I think or maybe Oregon and if you go with a T-5 you will be very happy with the results, when I put a T-5 in my 37 p/u I made a bracket to use the original E brake handle and weled a original shifter to the stub of the T-5 shifter and it looks somewhat original but they wont come up in the original holes in the floor.

Buffalo Enterprises 25625 Dahl Rd Arlington WA 98223 360-652-7684 He mainly deals with 37 to 54 but give him a call as I think he should be able to guide you through a T-5 installation on your 33.

    Concreteman -

As far as I know, MAS is out of business. Sid from Droppedaxles.com or here on the Hamb can drop one for you.

A T5 will bolt up to a '55 and later 235 bellhousing with very minor modifications to the T5. I am doing one now. Look for a T5 from an S10 pickup, preferable 1987 or earlier so that it has the mechanical speedo.

Do a search here on the Hamb for 235 T5 and you will find alot of information. If you have any specific questions, I may be able to help you answer them.

And, I am a Ford guy that now owns a Chevy, but I love that car. What a find.

the easiest bolt in is a 41-54 chevy half ton. you can do the 6 lug discs if you want with paulweldit here on the hamb and of course Sid can drop it.

At least thats what I am doing with my 33

Thanks all for the posts ,Dont know much about the car only the owner was shunned by the Chevy antique club ,for putting a 54 motor and hyd brakes in it :(
that's why he parked it in the garage for 30 some years
I also found out Tommy the Greek striped the car in the late 60t's

I have joined the VCCA and let it be known my 37 was slightly modified and they will just have to deal with it.

Probably have it dropped. I know there are couple that can do it.

Personally I think the Chevy's look better than the Ford's.

  23. The VCCA has loosened up a good bit over the years, but I'm sure it depends on the chapter.

Most of the older cars on tour have a lot of upgrades, they like to keep the "look" as stock as possible.
As a recent VCCA member, dropped by the wayside when I sold my stock '31 Chivvy, I know they stress touring as their mainstay. "THE TOURING CLUB". They readily accept 'upgrades', including power/gearing/safety belts/cooling system modifications, etc. In fact, they disdain old cars that can't keep up with the pack on tours.

That is a thing of beauty! MAS is outta business....VCCA guys are ok, my dad's been a member for a million years, and none of them have any problems with my cars showing up. Remove a leaf or two outta the front should get it dropped, blocks in the rear and enjoy that thing.

What a cool Chevy, my first car was a 33 tu-dr sedan. I will get some flack for this statement, but I think they are way cooler than a Ford body!!******in touches, don't let our H.A.M.B. queen Denise near that baby or she will be trying to rip off three of your flipper caps for her "Big Olds". Thanx for showing the coupe off!! Love it!!

WOW! What a GREAT ride! Again, since you asked, like others here I would drop the car in the front and a little in the rear as well. LOVE the striping and your choice of wheels and tires.....PERFECT!!!! Congrats and thanks for sharing!
