Well in between work and being broke I almost have the front end on the 59 ford together. Last fall the original 223 finally gave up the ghost. Spent the winter rebuilding it and decided while I was at it I would freshen up the front end a little. Front suspension has all new bushings, ball joints and a new sway bar. Engine is .030 over with .020 off the head and a fresh cam grind. Split the manifold for dual exhaust, installed a Offy dual intake and a mallory dual point dist. Man I can't wait to finish her up...

Nice work! Where did you get the sway bar and what front brakes are you using?

Going to use mufflers or straight pipes?

I will have to get the specs for the cam when I get home. But its just a mild regrind nothing crazy. I am running 1 3/4 pipe with porter steel pacs out bell flowers on the back. The brakes are from a granada and the front sway bar is a adco unit that I picked up a couple of years ago.

Looks awesome. Just finished my 223 build too, it's been fun.
You can get bigger sway bars for those cars from a small company in Texas that builds stuff for T-birds. I forget the name, but I got it from Wurthit Designs, he's a cool guy, has a lotof cool steering/suspension stuff for 55-up ford cars

More pics and updates. Got the brakes completely done, finished throttle linkage, down pipes are ready for the muffler shop and working on the inner fenders prepping them for paint.

I know its been awhile but here is what all has been don to the 59 over the last year and a half. SinisterCustom finished flaking the roof, changed out the wheels which are powder coated a dark metallic blue which was striped by SinisterCustom, And most recently I added 60 buick taillights. Also found out my second gear synchro in my trans I installed was weak.

I am glad I did it. I really like the look of the buick taillights.

Well I sold the 59 couple years ago. And damned if I didn't see it on Craigslist last week and had to buy it back. So it is now back with me.
