When i started this project 3 months ago all i had to begin with was a bare frame and a 31 body that had no firewall, floor, rear fenderwells and a roof that was cutoff. Since then myself and a few guys from my ar club have been wrenching away to try and finish this car before the summer (got a baby due in July [IMG] ), Anyway heres the progress

Heres the "money shot". Idecided to go for the full blown highboy stance with a lot of rake as opposed to a channeled look. I know its not a completley traditionally built car but I'm building it as safe as possible and with as much attitude as i can afford, combine that with many weekends of building and sharing ideas with my fellow hotrod friends...to me thats what hot rodding is about, so it seems traditional enough for me.

Looks good, I bought a set of those upper shock mounts, and wasn't sure they'd look that good, but I think they look great. Good looking car. Congrats on your upcoming fatherhood as well. Put this on the baby shower list.

I'm sold on the 1 inch tubing cage! That looks great! I think I'll go that route in my coupe!

Congrats on making it so far with that car, and all the obvious good work put into it!

Naw, I'll treat you right on the striping. It's more fun to bust your balls about radials AND radios!! If you just leave the cut-outs open you won't NEED a RADIO! We haveta get you away from those guys that're "helping" you...definitely a bad influence. [IMG] I've got a friend that is a jeweler...let me know when, and we can go get those gold chains for ya! 14. Looks good!

May I suggest some side exit headers along with some side pipes?

Maybe some like av8's Old Bluey?

I think it would fill the big expanse under the body.

    Keep up the good work!
    Sam.

    Dan,
we used a bender we got from Harbor Freight, It mounts to the floor and is supposed to be for solid stock, but we went ahead and used it anyway.
And the firewall is from "Direct Sheetmetal"

hey that is looking tough. Nice job. Sheesh if you are going to need a gold chain for that ride then I better get fitted for some gold rope myself. Good call getting it done before the baby arrives. I have a 20 month old and a 5 wk old and garage time is verrry limited right now to say the least. My 18 month old daughter can already tell the difference between a hot rod, a truck and a car since most of my former garage time is spent flipping through mags and books with her. [IMG]

  25. Hey Lesabre59, you got a real tuff ride going there. It's a real inspiration to see so much quality in a such a short time.

Looking at the "money shot" I don't think "squeezing" it under the car was a problem [IMG] I do like that cage too! Great work!
