upholstery gurus,,whats your thoughts on this machine?

    The Mini Brute is the one I own, inexpensive and gets the job done, sewn carpet, vinyl, leather. Never chagned the needle with 4 cars done.
    Never did top s***ching with it however.

    Johnny would a singer 281 work??? its advertised as an industrial unit with motor under table and is going for 160 in my ""neighborhood""

    Wow, lots of info here. I scored a sewing machine for free for my ol lady, but thought about MAYBE using it for upholstery. Im glad I didnt try! I think its just a smaller garment one. Not sure of the brand right now, but ill get the info and post it tomorrow. What do you guys do when your trying to do a large surface area and your machine doesent have that big of a "throat"? I dont see how you can do large material with a smaller size machine?
